Privacy Policy
Near is a voice companion app operated by Arise AI Ltd (“we”). This policy explains what we collect when you use the Near iPhone app and arisenear.com.
What we collect
- Account. Sign in with Apple or Google. We store an account identifier and any name you choose to share.
- Conversation. Messages you send, replies Near speaks or shows, and memories derived from those chats so she can pick up later.
- Voice. The microphone is used so you can talk. Speech is converted to text to send as chat. Audio is processed to provide the voice experience; we do not sell recordings.
- Photos. Only if you choose to show her a photo. Coordinates are not required for that.
- Day labels. If you allow it, the phone may send labels such as time of day, still/walking/in a car, home/away, and weather. Precise GPS coordinates stay on the device.
- Push. A device token so Near can send a check-in. You can turn this off in iOS Settings.
- Subscription. Plus is billed by Apple. We receive entitlement status, not your card number.
How we use it
To run Near: replies, spoken audio, memory, presence, optional check-ins, and to keep the service working. We use infrastructure providers (hosting, language models, text-to-speech). They process data only to provide those services.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your chats to advertise to you.
Sharing
We may share information with processors that host the app and generate replies or speech; with Apple for sign-in, notifications, and subscriptions; and when required by law or to protect someone’s safety.
Retention and deletion
We keep account, chat, and memory data while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at support@arisenear.com. Some backups and legal records may remain for a limited time.
Children
Near is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date above will change when we do.
